Things to do on Panama City holidays
Culture, arts & crafts
Panama City has a whole world of cultural attractions for visitors to discover.
Whether it’s a night at the theatre or a day learning to paint, there’s plenty to enjoy.
Beach Art Group
Kaleidoscope Theatre
Founded in 1971, the Beach Civic Center is a community theatre that regularly puts on plays for the benefit of locals and visitors alike. Over the years the productions and audiences have grown significantly and now sell-out crowds regularly fill the 262-seat theatre.
Marina Civic Center
The Marina Civic Center attracts national touring acts, competitions and individual entertainers to create an eclectic range of performances for the benefit of the local community. The building itself is also a focal point in downtown Panama City and enjoys panoramic views over the beautiful St. Andrews Bay.
Martin Theatre
Having first opened its doors as ‘the Ritz’ in 1936 as one of an early chain of cinemas, this historic building has been visited by a few famous faces over the years. That includes Clark Gable, Constance Bennett, William Boyd and Michael O’Shea. In the 50s, the Ritz was subsequently bought out and renovated by the Martin Family on its way to becoming to the state-of-the-art venue we see today.
Painting with a Twist
Beaches, surfing, parks & river cruises
Mexico Beach
A favourite spot of many of the locals is Mexico Beach, which sits on the edge of the Gulf but miles from anywhere else. It’s only an hour’s drive from Panama City and there are no high rises to spoil the view.
Dolphin spotting tours

Health, wellness & spa tourism
Panama City Beach Yoga Studios
Panama City ecotourism, wildlife & the great outdoors
St. Andrews State Park
Trip Advisor named St. Andrews State Park the second best beach in the whole of the US, which can’t be a bad thing. Whether you want to catch some rays on the beach, fish from the pier, snorkel along the jeti or canoe, kayak and hike your way up through the forest, there’s sure to be something for you.
Shell Island
A short boat trip from St. Andrews State Park is the pristine Shell Island, which means you can see two must-see natural attractions in a single day. Home to deer, turtles, pelicans, sandpipers and gulls, and with dolphins and plenty of colourful fish, you’re sure to spot at least a few of the island’s inhabitants during your stay.
Gayle’s Trails
Camp Helen State Park
This hidden gem boasts coastal dunes, salt marshes, freshwater wetlands and scrub oak forests as well as fishing areas for saltwater and freshwater enthusiasts.
The Panama City Beach Conservation Park

Panama City Sport
Surfing and skimboarding
Part of what makes Panama City unique is the fact that whatever watersport you love, or would really love to have a go at, the Gulf’s mid-sized waves mean entry-level never felt so good. The sugar-white sands and flat waters make this beach a must-skim destination, whatever your age!
